Why use a job sheet for small handyman jobs?
Because the list grows on the day. Writing down each job, any extras and their prices, then getting it signed, means the invoice matches what the customer agreed and nobody argues about what was asked for.
What is a job sheet?
A job sheet (also called a job card or work sheet) is the record of one visit: what you were asked to do, what you did, the checks you made, the materials you used and the customer's signature. It's what you turn to if there's a dispute, a callback or a warranty claim, and it makes the invoice quick to write.
Who signs a job sheet?
You fill it in and the customer signs it when the work is finished, to confirm it's done and they're happy with it. If the customer isn't there, note who let you in and send them a copy with photos.
